ConsultANZ is looking for a Zone Manager for major bulk earthworks projects with a top civil contractor in New Zealand's North Island.
This is an exciting opportunity for senior civil professionals who are ready to take on a key leadership role in a major road infrastructure development.
Main Duties:
- Lead earthworks operations across a designated project zone, ensuring efficient and high-quality delivery
- Plan and implement mass haul diagrams for optimized material movement
- Manage and monitor the performance and productivity of heavy earthmoving equipment
- Collaborate with project engineers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to meet project milestones
- Maintain strict adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Track zone progress, adjust plans as needed, and report to senior management
- Troubleshoot onsite issues and ensure timely resolution
- Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a related field
- 10+ years’ experience in bulk earthworks
- Prior experience managing machinery-heavy operations and large teams
- Strong knowledge of earthmoving equipment capabilities and haul planning
- Proven ability to interpret and use mass haul diagrams for strategic planning
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Competitive salary: $130,000 – $160,000 + vehicle (negotiable based on experience)
